Right around the time temperatures in Elizabethtown and the mid-Atlantic region were plummeting below zero in late January, a bunch of Sunshine State-based Blue Jays were flocking together in the much cozier climate of west central Florida.
Through the graciousness of hosts Dave ’68 and Ann (Strickler) ’70 Cruikshank, nearly 20 alumni and friends gathered in their home for a fun-filled evening of great connections, delectable food and exciting news about E-town College. Among the laughter-filled conversations about campus memories and mutual connections with special members of the E-town family were insightful and poignant moments of sharing about the many ways Elizabethtown College has transformed the lives of those present. Likewise, those gathered toasted to the service of President Carl Strikwerda and announcement of president-elect Cecilia M. McCormick, J.D. Among those in attendance were Board of Trustees member Joe Schultz ’83 and Executive Director of College Engagement Opportunities Mark Clapper ’96, each sharing special and exciting insights into present developments and future possibilities at the College.
“It was so wonderful to help bring the E-town family together in this area and celebrate the special bonds we have with each other through the College,” remarked Dave.“We love being, and will always be, ‘Blue Jays’ and hope that future gatherings will bring even more alumni together to renew and strengthen our bonds.”
